Hello all. I have very sad news, our track was hit again. 10 times worse then last year. All wiring gone, waterpump gone, both trucks gas tanks and radiators gone. PNM boxes gone. One part of the fence down by the score tower the cement block moved and the fence ran over. You get the picture however there is more. I am having a meeting Saturday at 9am to decide if we are going to have a season or if Caplin is closing for now. Hope to see everyone out at the track. Any questions feel free to call me.

And still no one replies. This is truly the death of a kart club.

Sorry to hear the the track got it again. This maybe a real good time to talk to Jim Guthrie about having a track built up by Sandia. The club has to except the fact that due to where Caplin is located it is subject to be robbed every winter or when its not in use, and it doesnt matter if you bury the electrical 6 feet or have a fence 10' tall, when someone wants rob it they will find a way to take it.

Again go talk with Jim G.

I did not think it was possible but we were hit again. A couple more things were taken. It is just amazing to me. I am wondering if come Saturday there will be dirt at Caplin. Apparently there are people out in this world with no soul and do not care that they are taking things from kids and people who love this sport. Thought I would just update everyone.

Tammy,
What, in addition to the previous damage was done now?

From the photos you sent me, there seemed to be nothing much left to steal.

These thieves are gonna milk the track for every nickel they can get with no remorse or morals.

The problem is, they probably STILL sleep good at night, I certainly couldn't.

Sleep well scum bags !!!

So sorry to hear that. Kaylee has a 9am basketball game so we will be unable to attend.

If there's any way we can help....either to rebuild or to help salvage whatever and move...whatever you guys think.

Praying for....well for lots of things and lots of people. Sad

yes I took the photos that Tammy sent to you. Andy was at the track today. He said more conduit is gone by the tech shed and the box that the digital scale sits on is gone. open space did put the barrier back in place.

Is the steel plate and the load cells underneath secure from theft?

that is a cost of at least $ 1000 ,and is essential for any kart race.

I I know it weighs 614 pounds, but steel at .08/pound, its an easy take for $ 50 bucks for a scumbag !!!

If this keeps up, I think Tammy is right, ----They will steal the dirt!!!

I hope they leave at least 6 feet of it, I can think of a very good use for it if anyone ever catches the bastards.

Where are the photos posted if posted? I would take those photos to the city and let them know what is going on out there and maybe they can help in repairs, but as a club let Jim Guthrie see those and see if he can start the process of get the club a track up at Sandia.

Check this place out:

Now play politics and maybe with a little work a long term safe kart track can be established.

Vince I want to let everyone know we got the scales out. Those drag marks are from them stealing the box that the meter sat on. I will e-mail you after the meeting.
I have found out much information so we shall see everyone tomorrow.

This will be our first one and there will hopefully be one agian in Feb. Please tell all your family, friends and neigbors to come out in that time span so we can start our rebuilding process.
Any one has any questions let me know. We are handing out flyer's and trying to get as many people as possible.

Hello all,

Tim came to meet with me today and gave me what they can think of for now. We are waiting on the electrician to come to the track to see what we need to do to pass PNM and see what we need.

Water Trucks.
Trucks are dated mid 70's F750.
2 radiators - a pick truck radiator will work from a 70's truck

2 behind the seat gas tanks

2 electric fuel pumps for trucks 12 volt

Breaker Boxes 200 amp 2 each

1 meter socket

Water Pump is 220 volt 3 to 5 horse were not sure 220 single face

Tee posts - whatever you can get

Steele Plates 4x8 sheets by 1/4 thick - whatever people can get

This is what we have come up for now. The list will change because as things go along then other things will be needed.

Thank you and hope to see everyone on the 19th at Coaches.

Tammy

Tammy If you guys want I have some fuel pumps that I will give you for the trucks. I can send them up there on the weekends cause one of our friends goes every weekend to Albq. But can I offer some advice. Dont try to fix your scale so they can steal it again use a set of setup scales or we have a grain scale we used to use that we may be able to give you. Keep all of the parts they are stealing so that you can take them with you. In stead of trying to buy fuel tanks make fuel tanks out of plastic fuel bottles or something like that so you can take them with you when not there. I will call some friends down here to see if I can help with more stuff that you need. Please call me if there is anything you guys want me to look for down here. Have a great day 575-496-6621 John

Thank you John we appreciate it. We are going to try to go with plastic or wood so this way unless they set it on fire then it is worth nothing to them. Smile Also we are going to make sure it can roll and go. This way as little as possible is left out. (going to take alot of people to help) We would love the pumps we can meet the person where ever please let me know we will be glad to do that.
Thank you for the help.

A brief update we are waiting on an electrican to go to the track to tell us what we need to do to get PNM back up and running.
