Dennis (Smith), please correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that Eric was heading for a 4th place finish when his chain broke.

We seem to have the Bad Luck Monkey on our back so far this season. Two weeks ago we were in the top 5 when we ran out of fuel after running a total of 44 laps in the main. Ran out with three laps to go. Then yesterday, we had nailed the setup and Eric in his words was really fast, we were running 4th when the weakest link (Master Link) in the chain gave out and we ended up with another DNF. Track was extremely dry and abbrasive. I think that the left rear was getting too much bite and we threw the chain. Oh Well, what do you do.

D. I have often wondered about masterlinks on Minis. Everyone seems to use them, but dose anybody use a chainbreaker and compressable link like on Karts?

The chains on Minis go through a lot more than on a Kart.

With tensioners and idlers and all, plus your chains are like 10 feet long.

I am amazed that they even stay on at all.

Youre right, kart chains were easy compared to these beasts. Our chain is 130 links long, and yes I will be using rivet links from now on.

I never ran a master link in any of my chains. Seems to me(could be wrong) but I think we talked about that at one point? I did get bit with this before I learned as well.
