Eric and I got back from Tucson on Sunday afternoon after racing a club race on Friday night, and then the Arizona State Championship Series on Saturday night. Great kart turnout for the club race on Friday night saw about 58 entires, 8 in Yamaha Light. We kind of out smarted ourselves by looking at this huge track and thinking that we need to add gear and flex. Wrong, we ran 4th in the main. Got back to the track about noon on Saturday just in time to run a couple of practice laps, we went back to gearing and flex that we run at Caplin and were right in the thick of things. Eric started last in the 1st heat and finished 2nd to Aaron Miller of Godfather Chassis racing, who is the current points leader in the series. In the 2nd heat we started on the pole and won the heat leading all 10 laps with Aaron Miller 2nd. Erics pill draw was bad, so we ended up on the outside of row 1. We gave it our best shot, and after finding his way in behind Aaron Miller from the pole, Eric was able to run about 11 laps in second, and our ss-44's started to go away, and he settled for 3rd in the main. We improved our position in the series standings to 3rd, behind Aaron Miller, and Aaron Hernandez (2005 Yamaha Duffy Winner). The next series race isnt until October, and we will be running a new engine that a builder offered Eric this weekend. See you at the next IKF race.

Now thats racin. Good work guys, Good report D.

Pretty interesting night at HHS in the mini sprint main, Jordan Matson flat out kicked all night in both heats and then in the main he had a rough battle but moved from second to first and traded back like 4 times in the first 17 laps. then to the front in lap 18, dropped to second in 19, then the dreaded yellow, single file for a shoot out but the compitition was of equal car and driver, and with no laped traffic to dice it up, they just ran out of laps with Jordan finishing Second.

Jordan takes driving lessons at McGunnis and once a month they have a Sunday drivers test for your license. If he passed we got one more wacko racer drivin on the streets.

But the way Jordan drives his kart and mini, I dont think we have to worry much.

Oh ya, Spiak racing brought it home in one piece with a respectable 12th with 20 starters in the feature main. Nice wheel work with Chris at the controls this week. Next week is Steves turn to drive, but we have spare parts.
